9-25-06: Hello everyone. Happy Monday. I hope everyone had a good weekend. We can't complain about ours. My mom and dad came into town last Thursday to spend some time with Hobs. they stayed until yesterday morning. We had a good time with them, and I think they enjoyed the time with Hobs. Saturday, we watched the UT game, but other than that, nothing too exciting. Yesterday after church, we went to the grocery store then came home. I mowed the lawn, then we took dinner to some friends that just had their baby. We stayed there for a little bit, then came back home, went on a walk, then watched TV and crashed. That is about as exciting as our life has been the last couple weeks, which I am not complaining about. I wish I had something more exciting to report, or something deep to talk about, but I don't. Sorry, pretty boring this week. Anyway, I realized that it has been a while since we put up any pics of Hobs, so I put up some pics we took over the weekend HERE. That is about all of now, have a good week.

9-21-06: Good morning. I finally got the site up and running on the new server. Hopefully it should be identical to the old one. The video page is still not working completely, but I will get it going soon. Also, the little pictures at the top of the screen don't always work if you are using Internet Explorer, so if you just see a white box with a grey star in it, please let me know. Also, if you notice anything else wrong, please email me  so I can fix it.

Other than that, things are going great. School is getting busy. I ended up staying in Arlington until about 12:30 Monday night working on stats homework with two other students that drive up from Lubbock. Anyone who has recently been to Arlington knows that staying out past dark is tempting death, and believe me, stopping for coffee at 12:30 on the way home was probably not a wise choice. I was fairly certain that my time on earth was drawing to a close given the clientele at QT, however, I slipped  through the Grim Reaper's cold hands to live another day.

Hollie is doing well, finally starting to be able to stay home some on her off days instead of going into Cingular all the time. My parents are coming up this weekend to see Hobs, so that should be fun. Oh well, that is about it for now. I will update more Monday.

9-11-06: Ok so I know you are all expecting an update from Stephen – but it's me…Hollie!  I have yet to have much of a voice on our site – and we have decided that it's time for me to contribute around here. So here goes….

This was a great weekend!  We were able to spend the majority of it at home with one another just hanging out…and doing laundry!  Friday night we had small group over for a fellowship night of games and fun (we are still trying to decide on our study topic – and a few of our group members were out of town).  So we played games until late in the night…. (Ehem…10:30 – but that’s late for us “old folks” these days).  Stephen rented the first DVD set of the second season of Lost and we watched one episode before we both fell asleep on the couch.  Stephen got up early Saturday morning to play golf with the Mikes (we have like 3 in our group), and left me sleeping on the couch (MY FAVORITE PLACE TO FALL ASLEEP ON FRIDAY NIGHTS!).  Hobs got up around 7:45 – so that means so did I.  I cleaned house like a mad woman b/c we were scheduled for a showing at 10am….I somehow managed to get the dusting and vacuuming done – and a quick bath before it was time to go.  Saturday was pretty much just a great day – Stephen got home from golf around 12:30 – and Hobs and I returned home around the same time (we went shopping during the showing).  We made lunch and then Stephen and I watched the rest of our Lost DVD.  Last night was of course the big UT vs. Ohio State game.  We went to a friend’s house to watch the game – and unfortunately we left very sad Longhorns.   It was a sad night for UT – but I have faith we will make up for it this week – and although it might not be quite as big of a game as UT vs. Ohio State (#1 vs. #2) it will still be sweet redemption.  Yeah – really not sure who this girl is that’s talking UT football – when I met Stephen I couldn’t give a flying flip about college football – and certainly not TEXAS – but he’s turned me around!  I actually look forward to the games these days!  I am a new college football loving’ woman!  I am a bit sad that Vince is gone…. I just loved him so – but that’s ok I am finding a special place in my heart for Colt.  Today (Sunday) we went to church and then went to my mom’s house so Stephen could help her set up her receiver in her house.  We had lunch and hung out for just a while and then we headed home.  We had another showing today (yes 2 this weekend…WHOOO HOOOO) so we had to leave for about an hour right after we got home (we got the call after we left moms when we were too far to turn back to her house to wait it out).  We went to get a drink and messed around in the neighborhood and then decided it was safe to come home - no sooner than we pulled up to the house and unloaded all of our junk did the realtor show up with his clients!!! I put Hobs back in the car seat with him looking up at me like are you kidding I just got out – picked up all the junk we had just unloaded (of course I spilled the contents of my purse all over the floor in the hustle) and we walked out pasted the realtor and his clients with our arms overloaded with garbage!  I am sure it was quite a site to see - we had 2 bags, a breast pump, a purse, a baby, my purse 3 shopping bags – and lets not forget my giant 52 oz Bubba Keg Mug from Wally World!  I am sure we looked really cool scrambling out like 2 whack jobs with a baby in tow.  So off we went to drive around some more.  This is the part where I should mention that we have the best baby ever – he didn’t cry or complain a bit – he just buckled in and made the best of it…..   We returned shortly there after - Hobs and I napped on the day bed while Stephen worked on the computer.  We spent the rest of the night just hanging out – and then finished it off with a nice long walk after dinner.  We walked the path that Stephen and I walked when we were trying to persuade Hobs to enter the world.  We had not walked together since April when I was still pregnant with Hobs.  It was really nice to walk and remember being pregnant with Hobs (such a great time in our lives – and in case you don’t know me I am being serious I LOVED being pregnant and we had a blast all 10 months!).  Hobs loved it – we put him in his big stroller that would let him recline – and he just sat back and rode along as we walked.  He talked a little here and there along the way.  It was a nice little family walk – with everyone except Philly (she doesn’t walk on a leash so well).

So that was pretty much our weekend – it was nice and relaxing – with a good majority spent at home!  Well if you made it this far thanks for reading my update – I am a little wordier than Stephen I think….. Well its time for me to get to bed.  I have a long week ahead of me – tomorrow it begins with….LAUNDRY!

9-5-06: Hey everyone. I hope everyone had a nice restful holiday weekend. Ours was pretty nice. We didn't do a whole lot, which was great. Last week was pretty typical at work. Friday night, we went over to Penny's to spend the weekend there with Hollie's brother and their side of the family. Saturday morning, I got up and went to my fantasy football draft, which turned out to work out pretty well for me. I then went back and watched the UT game. While I did that, Hollie and the rest of the family went to get all of the grand kids picture taken together. We stayed there the rest of the weekend, mainly just relaxing and swimming a lot. We came home yesterday afternoon, and did some laundry. That is about as exciting as our life gets these days. We didn't take many pics, but I put a few HERE.

Hollie's new job is going well. She is still a little stressed, but I have no doubt that she will do fine. I started classes last week. It went pretty well. I have already had to be tutored once by a high school kid to refresh my on my algebra skills (or lack thereof) so I can be halfway competent in my stats class.

On a side note, it is always interesting to see what those people you went to school with are up to. I was messing around on the computer Friday night and decided to look up all my old friends on myspace. Well, I decided to look up one of my old girlfriends. Now, this girl and me weren't too serious, but I do think I was her first at least semi-serious relationship. So, I typed in her name, and there she was. She didn't look bad, hadn't changed too much, well at least physically anyway. So, I was reading her profile, and one word really caught my attention. Yep, the word lesbian. So, once again, my fragile ego was shattered with the knowledge that this girl was so impressed with me that upon breaking up, she had no choice but to run and find comfort and love in the arms of another woman. What a huge lift to my masculinity. Hollie thought it was pretty funny, but I don't see a lot of her ex boyfriends sporting cardigans and running off to Elton John concerts. She probably wouldn't think it to be so funny then. Oh well, so is life. Have a good week.
