Here's what's going on in our lives (if you care): |

3-27-06: Well, things are getting
close. Really close. We went to the Dr. Friday and found out that this baby
might be coming a little earlier than expected. His due date is April 19th.
Well, as of the sonogram Friday, he is already around 8 lbs. 2 oz. That's a
big baby, and just getting bigger (they said it looked like he had hair, and
he was holding his foot the whole time). Anyway, the Dr. talked about our
options for delivering this toddler, and of course we said that we are going
to do it natural, with no induction or planned C-section or anything like
that, and she was fine with it. Then (I will try not to get graphic here)
she "checked" Hollie, and said (how should I put this?) thing are already
beginning to progress. She then said "we may not need to worry about his
size, you may go have him tonight and we won't have to worry about any of
this." I asked her exactly how soon she thought he would be here, and she
said probably this week, maybe next. So, that was a little shocking. We
scrambled around Friday trying to get things taken care of that still needed
to be done. Hollie was up at 5:15 this morning doing some more work on the
nursery (and for those who know my wife, yes, that is 5:15 in the A.M. . .
shocking I know). Hollie really wants him to wait until next week so she can
finish training her temp at work, but honestly, I am excited and want to see
him now. It is hard waiting on something you have little control of. Oh
well, no sense worrying about it. She goes back in tomorrow to be checked
again, so I might know a little more then. I will post on the site as soon
as I know anything, so you may want to check it periodically throughout the
week. But, if I miss a post on any Monday in the future, you probably can
count on the fact that we are either having, or have had the baby. I will
try to get pictures up of him as soon as I can on the site after he is born,
but probably won't be able to get a full post up for a few days. We will
see. Other than that, we had a crazy weekend. Hollie's mom's family came over for the weekend for our family shower. It was really great. We got to see some people that we don't get to see that much. The shower was great, we got a lot of great stuff. The nursery is almost done. We still need to get a lamp, but that is about all. I need to take some pics of the nursery and post them on here sometime in the next few days. I may be updating the site more than once a week if things start to change, basically because I am getting excited and this gives me a way to talk about it, even if most people don't care. Oh well, maybe we will have a baby this time next week, or maybe not (who knows, he may end up staying full term and coming out 10 + lbs.). Have a good week, I will update progress throughout the week, so feel free to check back, or email me or post to the guestbook if you want to know anything. The pics of this weekend are HERE. See ya later.
3-20-06: Good morning. I'm sorry there was not post last week, I was on Spring Break and never got around to the computer. Anyway, I hope everyone had a great 2 weeks. Ours has been very busy, but fun. 2 weekends ago my parents came into town, which was nice. Hollie and I went to a wedding ALL DAY that Saturday, so we didn't get to see them very much. Amy and Brett were in town last week too, so that was fun. I got to play some golf with Brett, and go to a Stars game. We spent most of this last Saturday getting the nursery ready. It still isn't 100% ready, but it is getting there. We have been watching a lot more LOST, and are almost done with the first season. It will be disappointing to not have any other DVDs to watch after we finish this last one, but oh well, the 2nd season will be out this Summer. Saturday night, we decided to go out on our last official date before the baby gets here. We went to Caraba's for dinner. Hollie has to work in uptown Dallas this week, and her boss was nice enough to book us a room at the hotel a night early, so we got to check into our room Saturday night which was great. It is a sweet room. It is easily the biggest and nicest hotel room I had ever been in (until last night, but I will get to that in a minute). It is bigger than the downstairs in our house. Thanks Cingular. We slept in Sunday (I know, we didn't go to church, but we did say a prayer, does that count?). When I got up to go get us breakfast Sunday morning, the entire UT basketball team was in the lobby waiting on their bus. I was very star struck. I just sat down and called Hollie and my dad to tell them. It was pretty cool. That afternoon we went out into the flood of Dallas to go to the Dallas Aquarium, which was cool, but very crowded. It was raining so hard yesterday that they shut down both airports and the tollway due to flooding, so needless to say, we got soaked when we left the aquarium. We then went back to the hotel so Hollie could start getting ready to work last night, and for me to watch the UT game. Hollie spent some of the day lining up her boss' suite for him to check into, but he couldn't check into his suite on time because the person who was in it decided to stay late. Well, it turns out that the person they were waiting on was Terrell Owens. So, when Hollie finally got her boss into his room, he invited me up to watch the game. His hotel room is incredible. It is about 3,000 sq feet, 2 stories, with a huge living room with a plasma TV that I watched the game on. I sat on the same couch that T.O. had been on hours before. So, needless to say, Hollie and I are enjoying living like rock stars this week. I am staying downtown with her so I can feel important. It has been a fun weekend down there, and we are loving staying there, even though Hollie has to work until 10 every night. Anyway, I guess this post is long enough. I added a Weekly Prayer section to the site, so be sure and check that out if you are interested. Have a good week, see you all next Monday.
3-6-06: Hello. I hope everyone's weekend was good. We didn't have much of one. Friday night was fun; we went out with the Brannons and Carys to celebrate Destin's b-day, but we didn't stay out too late. Saturday, Hollie had to go to a wedding in Waco, and I had a conference in Dallas. The conference was very boring, and a waste of a good Saturday. Hollie got home about 11 that night with her mom, and we all just crashed. Yesterday, we had the dedication of the new addition to the building at church, so that was nice. We got a free meal out of it. We got home about 3:00 and spent the rest of the day working. Hollie did a lot of work in the nursery, and then we rearranged some furniture. Last night, we watched some more episodes of LOST, which was pretty cool. However, today, I have spent every free minute at work on the phone arguing with the bank about something stupid. I hate banks, and anything to do with money. I am NOT an assertive person, so that doesn't help. Oh well, it may not even be the bank's fault, it may be someone else's fault, but that still does not make it any more fun. I am sure it will work itself out (not that what is going on is even a big deal), and I am sure next week I won't even care about it. But still, it has made today not so fun. Other than that, things are good. We had a shower at one of my schools last week, which went really well. The pics are HERE. That's about it, see you all next week. |
