7-30-07:

John 1: 12-13 (NIV)

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

God, thank you for making us your children. Thank you for caring for and blessing us. Please don't let us take that for granted.

7-23-07:

1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIV)

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

God, please help us not to be discouraged by people who do not believe. Let us represent your love to them in everything we do.

Matthew 14:24-27 (New King James Version)

24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”

God, we know you will come to us at the perfect time. Please help us to be patient, and trust that you will not leave us. We need to trust your timing, not ours. Help us to fully devote ourselves to you, even when we may not see you.
