1-28-08: Sorry, it's been a terrible day at work. I will update a nice update next week with pics. Sorry

1-14-08: Hello again to all of my fans. Happy freakin' Monday. We started a new program at school this morning called SHINE TIME (manly name), which is short for "school is now starting 20 minutes earlier." I don't like getting here on time as it is, and now I have to get here earlier? Ah, the glory of education driven by standardized testing. Oh well, I got here on time somehow. I usually like to give myself 20 or 30 minutes to start my day before actually seeing kids, but that is over now. Oh well, I will just role with the early morning punches.

Our weekend was good. Not too much going on. We hung out Saturday, and went to church yesterday before watching the heartless Cowboys play. At least Hobs enjoyed watching football. Speaking of Hobs, he has found his sensitive side (which I hope is short-lived). While watching Little Einsteins the other day (an episode he has watched many times), there was a part where the Little Einsteins had to give their new found pet away. The characters all hung their heads, and the music was very dramatic. Hobs was playing around, kinda watching it at times. At this point in the show, however, he stopped, watched the TV intently, and burst out crying. Hollie consoled him, and he was fine. Lovely. Oh well, I guess that is normal for any kid. I just wished he would have showed that kind of emotion at the conclusion of the Cowboys game.

That's about it for now. I start school again this week. I teach tonight, and then have class the next 2 nights, so it should be busy yet again. That's life. Talk to you next week.

1-7-08: Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and all that crap. I hope you all had a good one. Ours was nice. We had a great two weeks off. We did a lot of stuff, mainly moved around a lot of furniture. We moved Hobs' baby furniture into the new nursery, and moved Hobs' new furniture in. He is still loving his bed. Last night was the first time he actually got out on his own and wondered into the hall. Hollie heard him hiccupping, and saw him hiding in the hall. She said "you are not allowed to be out of bed." He then ran back into his room. About 10 minutes later she heard something in the bathroom. She went around the corner and found him crouched in there quietly. Otherwise, the transition from the crib has been a success.

The next room we did was the dining room and formal living. We switched the two rooms (moved furniture and light fixtures) and made the formal living (which was the dining room) a playroom for Hobs. It is right off the kitchen, so he can see Hollie and vice versa when she is in there. We put a little TV in there so he can watch his 30 minutes a day of Little Einsteins. We also got him a new football chair (he is addicted to football, literally addicted). It is actually for his b-day in April, but we didn't have a place to put it until then, so he got part of his gift early. We surprised him with it the day after New Years. Here is a pic of him when he found it. Notice the football in his hand. He carries it around 24/7.

Anyway, we decided on a name for the new kid. It is going to be Penn McCasland. It is both Hollie and my grandmother's maiden names. We are going to call him Penn (his first name). Yes it is different, no we don't want your suggestions on how to change it, yes we know we will be criticized for it, and no we don't care.

So, that being said, we are on the downhill slope of our second child coming, which is somewhat daunting. It still hasn't set in yet I don't think. It will soon, I am sure.

Finally, I have added three new photo galleries and a new video. The first set of pics is from Christmas in Lubbock. We had a good time. We were there for 5 days, which was nice. Those pics are HERE. The next set of pics is from the Arboretum in Dallas. We went there with our good friends Tommy and Pery last Sunday. There was a petting zoo, and different stuff like that. Those pics are HERE. The last set are just random pics we took of him playing football at the park last week (plus some others). Those are HERE. The video is of him showing off his freakish football skills. Seriously, the kid has a cannon for an arm, and is really accurate with it. The vid is HERE. Enjoy. Thanks for stopping by. See you all next week.
