Here's what's going on in our lives (if you care):

February 2007

2-26-07: Well, I guess someone heard me say at some point last week "well, I guess things can only get better." Wrong. Hobs continued to be sick Monday, and got really bad that night. Hollie took him to the Dr. Tuesday, then we ended up at the E.R. Tuesday night because he could hardly breath. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. I guess the good news was that it must not have been too severe, because by the next day, the Dr. said it was just Bronchitis at that point. Anyway, she wanted to bump his surgery up to last Friday to hopefully get him some relief on his ears. Well, we went in Friday morning at 6:00 only to be sent home. The anesthesiologist did not feel that his lungs were well enough to handle the surgery (which was fine with us, we by no means wanted to endanger him). Still, it was frustrating. He is still waking up screaming from pain multiple times during the night. Friday night, Hollie ended up being up all night with really bad pains in her mouth. She said it was about the worst pain she has ever had, which is saying a lot given her history of broken bones, labor, mouth surgeries, etc. Anyway, the Dr. gave her some pain meds the next day. She went in earlier today, and he told her the pains were not related to her teeth, instead, they were related to her mono. More than likely she has something along the lines of shingles. Anyway, she is feeling a little better today, and will start back to work tomorrow half days. So, that is pretty much how our last week has looked. I have a stats test tonight, my first of the semester, so I am busy studying for that in my spare time. That's about it for now. We have moved Hobs' surgery to this Friday morning, so please keep him in your prayers.

2-19-07: You ever have one of those days? Well, we have had one now for the last 7 days. I guess it all started with Hobs not feeling good last week. We ended up going to the Dr. and he had both ears infected and pink eye. That night ended with me having a flat tire on the way home from school at 10:00. So I changed the tire, then went home. Tuesday morning, Hollie was feeling really bad, so I decided to stay home again to help out with Hobs while she went to the Dr. Well, she was diagnosed with Mono, and told she couldn't go to work for 2-3 weeks. Needless to say, she was a little upset. So, I went ahead and took off Wednesday and Thursday to stay at home and help out. That afternoon we visited the ENT with Hobs and was told that he needed tubes. His surgery is scheduled for March 15th. Wednesday, I took my car in to get my (3 week old) tire fixed. I was told that it was ruined, and I had to buy a new one. So I left the car overnight. Thursday, my parents came into town. My dad took me to pick up my car that night from the tire place. Well, it should have been no surprise that I turned the key and nothing happened. We did get it jumped, and replaced the battery and terminals on it Friday. I went back to work Friday since my mom was at home to take care of Hobs. Saturday I took my car in to have the brakes worked on. Well, 6 hours after I dropped it off, the brake place called to tell me they didn't stock my brake parts. Of course it makes sense to me that a place that does "Just Brakes" does not stock brakes for my car. And they added on that there was more damage in there than they thought and it was going to cost me about 3 times what they originally thought. Anyway, I picked it up from there and took it to another place that could fix it on Sunday.

Last night Hobs had his 7th night in a row of waking up screaming. Last night he made it all the way to 10:00 PM before waking up. This morning Hollie took him to the Dr, and we are considering trying to move his surgery up. He also started throwing up and not eating this morning. So, that about sums up our week. Actually, with everything going on, I did really enjoy the 4 days off work with Hobs. I haven't seen him that much in a while, and it was nice to be at home with him and Hollie. Hollie is feeling better, just really tired a lot of the time. Hopefully this week will go better. Life really isn't that bad, and I am not trying to be a complainer, I just thought it was odd that all that happened in the span of 7 days. Other than that, we did get a lot of work on the house done this weekend. My dad took some pics of Hobs over the past 2 weekends. I put those HERE. Have a good week.

2-12-07: Hello. Well, it has been a really long night, so this might not be too long or interesting. We went to Lubbock this weekend for homecoming and Master Follies. We had a great time. Friday night we had our 5/6 year reunion, which was a lot of fun. Afterwards, Hollie went out with some of her old friends and I went out with some of mine. Saturday morning, we each went to our alumni breakfasts, then to alumni chapel. Granny and Pappy came over to see Hobs and us that afternoon, then we went to Follies that night, then hung out with some friends after that. We had a really good time seeing a lot of people we hadn't seen in a while. We would have had some pictures, but we left our camera here. If we can get some pics from our friends I will put those up at some point. Anyway, we flew home yesterday. Hobs has been teething again, so he has been waking up some during the night. Well, last night, we could tell he wasn't feeling good. We laid him down about 9:15, but he was up about 45 minutes later. He didn't fall asleep again until right before 1:00. He woke up again about 2:30, and screamed. If you know Hobs, you know that's not normal. He just couldn't be consoled. He screamed for almost an hour. We put him in the bath to calm him down, which worked briefly. We called the Dr. around 3:45 to see what to do. She said if he hadn't stopped crying by 4:15 to go to the ER. Penny then was nice enough to drop by Wal-Mart and get some medicine for him. We had no idea what was wrong. His stomach seemed to really be hurting him, he was pulling at his ears, and he was teething. Well, we finally got him calmed down about 4:00, gave him his medicine, and he played until about 4:30 when we finally got him back to sleep. He was up again about 7:00, but not as hysterical. He was just a little whiney, but went back to sleep off and on in our bed. To top it all off, Hollie is feeling really bad too, so I called in to work to help out. Finally, when we all got up about 9:15, both of his eyes were matted shut. We cleaned them out, then he actually seemed pretty happy. He is ok now, he went down for a nap pretty easily. We are taking him to the Dr. this afternoon. So, that is how our night went. Hopefully tonight will be better. I hate feeling so helpless. Oh well, hopefully everyone else slept better than we did. See you all next week.

2-5-07: Good morning everyone. I hope everyone had a good weekend. We, of course, spent most of it unpacking. We unpacked most of Saturday, then cooked dinner that night for Hollie's mom, aunt, and uncle. Sunday we went to church, then to lunch, then to a Super Bowl party last night with our small group. That is about as exciting as our weekend was. We have been pretty boring lately I will admit. This weekend we are going to Lubbock for homecoming and Master Follies. We are pretty excited about it. We have missed the last 2 years, but this year is our 5 year reunion. I think this will be the first time we are really going to "homecoming." The last 2 times we went was more like we were going back to college to see all of our friends that were still there. This time we don't really know anyone that is still in school. So, that should be fun. Other than that, nothing else is really going on. I posted Hobs' 9 month pics. They are of course copyrighted, so  there is a water stamp over them, but you can still see them for the most part. They are HERE. Have a good week.
