February 2008

2-25-08: Hello again. Not too much new to talk about. Our weekend was pretty good. Saturday, Hobs was invited to a birthday party at the Wiggles Place Center, which is where every adult wants to go on the weekend. He had a good time. That night our friends Mike and Katie came over and we played Wii until the wii hours (sorry about that). Yesterday we hung out at home, then went to the park with small group after church. That is about all. Hollie is doing well, as is the baby. That it, sorry so boring.

2-18-08: Hello all. I hope everyone had a good weekend. Ours was pretty uneventful. Saturday the three of us went out to dinner for V-day. I know, very romantic. It was actually fun. Hobs does really well in restaurants, all the girls love him and stare at him. He's kinda like me in that way. Yesterday we went to church and came home. Hollie did her medical transcription while I folded laundry and watched . . . . should I say it out loud? . . . .  ok . . . . . You've Got Mail. Yes, I said it. I watched it. What can I say, I love Tom Hanks. Does that make me gay . . . perhaps. But I don't care, I am now out of the Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks proverbial closet. I am not a huge chick-flick guy, don't get me wrong, but we all have our movies that we are embarrassed to like, and that is mine. Please take note, I would not call it my favorite movie. That is reserved for things like Shawshank Redemption, Ocean's 11, and the Bourne trilogy. But I do like it, and I did find myself laughing out loud at times. So there ya go. But that makes me curious . . . I wonder what movies other people like but are afraid to admit it. You know I don't ask much in return for you having the privilege of reading this site and gaining an insight to our fascinating lives. I am asking this one thing though, go to the guestbook and post what movies you are embarrassed to like. It will make me feel a little bit better for wussing myself out enough to watch You've Got Mail (not to be confused with the somewhat popular Oak Lawn version "You've Got Male"). So go to the guestbook and let me know so I can secretly make fun of you too.  CLICK HERE TO POST. Remember you have to hit refresh in order to see your post (something most people still don't understand the concept of). If you type your post in again just because you don't see it, it will show up twice and I will call you out next week for not following directions.

2-11-08: Sorry this is a little late, it was insane yesterday. Our lives are good, nothing really new going on. We had some of my work friends over for lunch Saturday. Sunday we came home from church and Hollie took a nap with Hobs while I worked on our taxes. That night we had small group over. That is about all that is new, sorry, nothing too exciting. Have a good Valentine's Day.

2-4-08: Good morning everyone. Hopefully everyone had a good weekend. Ours was good. My parents came in. We weren't sure it was going to go so well, because Hobs had  been really sick, but he still had a great time with them. Hobs started Monday with a low fever, around 100. By Tuesday it had climbed to about 102. Wednesday morning it topped out at 104.1. The Dr. said she thought it was viral, and that it should be gone by Thursday. Well, by Thursday it was still up around 103, so she wanted to see him again. They did chest x-rays and some other stuff, and determined that it was viral, but they wanted to see him again for blood work Saturday if the fever had not gone away. Luckily for everyone, it was gone by Friday night . . . so we didn't have to put Hobs through that.

I hated that he was sick, but I loved staying home with him 3 days last week. I don't get to see him as much during the week since I go to school, so seeing him all week was great. He got a little spoiled. Mainly he just laid in our bed all day and watched his favorite 3 shows: Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, and his Praise Baby DVDs.

Anyway, things are going well for us. Hollie is doing well. The baby is measuring just right. Time is flying by, it won't be too much longer before he is here.

I put a bunch of pics from the last two weeks up. Some of them are just of Hobs around the house. Some are with our friends Mike and Katie's daughter Ava, Hobs at the Stockshow, and Hobs laying sick in our bed. I captioned all of them so you know what is what. They are HERE. Enjoy.
