Here's what's going on in our lives (if you care): |

4-26-04: Good morning everyone. Happy Monday. We are doing pretty good
today. This morning actually started off on a better note than last week. I
weighed in at 198.5 lbs. This is the first time I have weighed under 200 lbs
since my sophomore year of college (1999), so that is exciting. So all
the getting up early to work out and eating foods that aren't that great is
still paying off, slowly, but surely. We had a fast and furious weekend.
Saturday, I had to help interview at the job fair for my school. You know,
after sitting there for 5 hours interviewing people, it scares me to think
that most of those yahoos that I interviewed will eventually get teaching
jobs (although not at my school!), and may end up teaching my kids someday.
Not a comforting thought. We found one or two good candidates, but since
there were about 150 who came through, that is not a great percentage. Oh
well. After that, I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Mavericks playoff
game that night, which they one by some miracle. Hollie went to Arlington,
and to Destin's while I was there, then we all went over to our friends Mike
and Katie's house. Yesterday, we had a picnic in the park with our small
group from church. We played basketball most of the afternoon, so I have a
really nice sunburn on my face and neck to remind me of the day. It poured
rain all night Saturday, so the ground was still really muddy, which Hollie
found out first hand while running after me, and taking a nice dive across
the muddy grass
on accident.
We go for our first ultrasound tomorrow
afternoon, so that is something to look forward to! We are planning to have
a big party at our house next month, so we have decided to start improving
the outside of the house for the summer. I am going to try my hand at
swapping out porch lights this week, so hopefully I won't electrocute
myself. We are also looking at adding gutters to the front of the house,
since our flower bed washes out everytime it rains. Not real fun, but
something that needs to be done. Well, that's about all I can think of.
Hopefully we will have some more exciting news after tomorrow's Dr.'s
appointment. Have a good week! 4-19-04:
Hello, and good morning. Since I wrote Friday, there is not a lot new going
on with us. We had a nice weekend at home. My parent's were in town on Sat.
night. Hollie and I actually went to a wedding that night, and were out
until close to 1 AM. We had a lot of fun, saw some friends from college. We
went to church yesterday morning, and told our small group about the
pregnancy. After that, I went and played some golf with some church friends.
I had the best round I've had in a while, and since the wind was blowing
like crazy, I figured that's pretty good. I need to build my confidence up
since I will probably be playing some of the hardest golf of my life next
month on vacation. Speaking of vacation, we booked our flights and lodging
this weekend with our friends, so now, we just have to wait 6 more weeks. I
have been accepted to work at summer school this year, which I guess is a
good thing. Hollie is still
feeling pretty good (pregnancy wise), so that is a blessing. My toe is
feeling pretty good. I returned to the gym this morning for the first time
in over a week. Unfortunately, I weighted 1 lb more this morning than I did
last week. That is the first time I have gained weight since I started
working out in January: very frustrating. Oh well, just gotta keep working
on it. Hollie's mom might come into town this week, that's about the only
thing exciting going on so far. Oh well, hope to have more info next week.
We will see you then. 4-16-04: Good
afternoon, happy Friday. I know it has taken a while to get this update up
this week, but we had good reason to wait. We wanted to wait until we told
everyone in the family that WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!!!!!!!
Now that everyone knows, it is safe to announce. Hollie is 6 1/2 weeks
along. We went to the Dr. on Monday, and got a definate yes. We go back the
27th for the first ultrasound. The baby will be due on December
3rd.
Anyway, things are good. I had my other toe done last Friday, and it is
recovering nicely. I hope to put it in a shoe for the first time tomorrow.
We have to go to a wedding, and I don't think flip flops would be smiled
upon. Hollie cooked a wonderful Easter dinner for us and Amy on Sunday, and
we even broke out the fine china. I will post pics of that in the next few
days. We are going over to our friends Mike and Katie's house tonight to
begin planning, and to book our vacation. We were planning on going to
Mexico, but the Dr. doesn't feel comfortable with Hollie leaving the
country, so after a long week of rethinking, we decided to go to
Hilton Head Island, SC
(thanks to my mom's suggestion). We are so pumped. The guys will play golf,
and the girls will lay on the beach. What a perfect trip. That's about all I
can think of at the moment. I am sure I will have more to say Monday.
Everyone have a good weekend. 4-5-04: Hello, happy Monday to everyone. The past week has not been too eventful. We had a nice weekend at home. Friday night, we baby say for Randy and Shelley, and then Saturday I went to NASCAR with my friend Mike. It was an interesting experience. The weather was awesome, so that made it fun. We went to a BBQ with Brett and Amy that night, where I proceeded to fall asleep on the couch for 1 1/2 hours in front of her family, most of which I didn't even know. We went to church yesterday morning, then I hung out at Mike's while Hollie went to a bridal shower for a girl at church. I have my other toe done this Friday, so I am not really looking forward to that, but I really don't have a choice, so I just have to suck it up. It is a short week at work, so I will be really busy. Hollie doesn't get any time off for Easter, so that is a downer. Other than that, there is really nothing new with us. Maybe next week's update will be a little better, but as for now, that's about it. Have a great week, and a good Easter!
