Here's what's going on in our lives (if you care): |

May 2005

| 5-23-05:
Good morning. I hope everyone had a good week. We had a pretty busy weekend.
Friday, we had a cookout and swimming party at my friend Paul’s house for
some kids at school. After the kids left, we sat and watched the Mavs game.
Saturday, we got up, had breakfast with Amy and Brett, then Brett and I went
to see Star Wars and Hollie and Amy went shopping. We met up after that, had
lunch, then I went to their house while Hollie babysat. Sunday, Hollie and I
went to see Star Wars together. We then went home, and Cory (a guy in our
small group that lives in the same neighborhood as us) went to the pool.
After that, we all went back to the house, cooked out, and watched TV.
Nothing too exciting. I probably won’t update the site next week, because I
will be out of town. I am driving to El Paso to hang out with my old
roommates from college, and Hollie is going to spend time with her mom. I
will update it in 2 weeks. Have a good Memorial Day! 5-16-05:
Hello, happy Monday! We had a really fun weekend. Our party Friday night was
a BLAST! We had about 40 people there altogether, so it was a really fun
time. We got to see a lot of friends that we don’t see that much. A few
people that drove from Fort Worth stayed over, so we stayed up late talking
with them. The next day, we got up and had breakfast with those who slept
over, then just laid around until about 4:00, when we went to our niece
Alexis’ b-day party in McKinney. After that, we just came home and watched
TV the rest of the night. Yesterday, we got up, went to church, ate lunch
with Amy and Brett, then came home and were lazy for the rest of the day.
That’s about it, a pretty good weekend! This week is going to be busy at
work, due to school almost being over. So, I will talk to you all next week.
The pics of the party are HERE.
5-9-05: Good morning. I
hope everyone had a good weekend. Ours went pretty well. Friday night we
went to eat and then went bowling with our small group. It was a lot of fun.
Saturday, I got up and took the dog to the vet to be checked for worms
(turns out the little guy we took care of last week had worms). He checked
out ok. After that, I went and worked out. I came home, and worked on the
yard all day while Hollie cleaned house. That night, we went to a Cinco de
Mayo party on our block. Afterwards, I went to my friend Mike’s house to
watch the Mavericks game. The next morning, we all went to church. Penny
drove in Saturday night for Mother’s day. After church, we all went to eat
with Amy and Brett. We stopped by Lowe’s on the way home to get some stuff
for the house. We worked in the flower beds that afternoon. Hollie and I
went to Target last night to finish up getting stuff for the Party on the
Patio that we will have this weekend. We are really excited about that!
That’s it for now. I will post pictures of the party next week. See you
then. 5-2-05: Happy May
everyone! I guess I will start with an update about the dog situation. He
dug out of our backyard Monday while we were at work. Thank goodness I left
Kevin in the house (just in case this happened, I didn’t want him following
the new dog out). After talking to some neighbors, it turns out he was
picked up by animal control. However, the next day, I got a call from a lady
in the area that rescues stray dogs from the pound and takes them to a local
no-kill shelter where they are put up for adoption. Supposedly he was
rescued Wednesday morning from death row, and taken to the SPCA. Anyway,
once that saga was over, we began the process of buying Hollie a new car.
She wanted something smaller than her Tahoe, that gets better mileage.
Anyway, we settled on the Lexus RX 330. After talking to the salesman for a
couple weeks, and letting him know what we wanted, he finally found one
Friday night. We did the whole song and dance thing of haggling over the
price, and finally came to an agreement. We bought the car Saturday night,
and Hollie will pick it up today. I attached a picture of it at the bottom.
Anyway, Friday night, after haggling over the phone with the car salesmen,
Hollie went to Westlake to a lady’s retreat with Destin. I went to Amy and
Brett’s and helped them get ready for their garage sale. The next morning, I
went to our career fair to help interview candidates for next year. That
afternoon, we went to sign all the papers on the car, then went to Fort
Worth to watch the Mavs game, and eat dinner with Mark and Destin, and Tim
and Jenny. We had a really good time. We are now starting to pick the house
up to get ready for our big Party on the Patio. This year’s looks like it is
going to be a lot bigger than last year. We are expecting about 60 people. I
am really excited, I think it’s gonna be a blast!! Anyway, here is a picture
of Hollie’s new car that she is so proud of. Have a good week.
